Electric utility contract

I’ll be moving to Houston and getting an apartment sometime Aug or Sept. Looks like electric costs are up this time of the year. Should I get a 1 year lock in price for electricity now or sign for a 3 month (or if there’s a monthly) contract and sign a longer contract when prices drop during Fall/Winter?
