East Coast PE firm wins auction for Tex-Mex chain Trudy’s

A North Carolina-based private equity firm focused on restaurants won the July 23 auction for Trudy’s Texas Star, which owns three locations of Tex-Mex eatery Trudy’s in Austin as well as South Congress Cafe. The deal still needs a judge’s approval to be finalized, but the expected new owner said “we’re going to put some tender loving care into the facilities, and make sure that we update everything … and then over time, make sure that we have the best team to make sure that we have the best food possible.”
