Dog with Thyroid Cancer – possible rehome

Hello everyone!

Not really happy to be posting this but my grandparents have an older dog, going on 8 years old. He was originally from CAP if i’m not mistaken, adopted as a puppy under 1 year old. Over the past couple months he was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and my grandparents who are approaching their 85’s are having a tough time caring for the pupper. He is a big but super sweet dog, doesn’t bite and isn’t aggressive with other humans. He barks at strangers for sure but is a gentle giant when you get close. His health is slowly declining further and unfortunately they aren’t able to give him the time and care he needs. I’m trying to see if anyone knows of rehoming possibilities or even anyone who would be willing to care for him in his last time. My grandparents cannot afford treatment and are reaching the age where caring for any animal is becoming hard. Right now he’s mostly an inside doggo, potty trained, and is very obedient.
