What the hell happened to the music festivals around here, anyhow?

I remember back around a decade ago, Free Press was the s**t. And then… that slowly got enshittified and got more and more bonkers expensive, until it suddenly died.

And then Day for Night was a thing for about two years, seemingly the same vibes (I never got a chance to go), and… immediately died, too.

And, looking it up, it seems like basically everything else we had is just flat-out gone, too. Something Wicked moved to Austin and changed their name. Astroworld tried, but, uh, we all know what happened there. Buzzfest is a joke, if it still happens at all (I honestly kind of hope it doesn't, Buzzfest being the fucking last one standing would be a hell of a cosmic joke).

What the f**k happened here? We went from having an embarrassment of them to having none. Hell, our music scene as a whole kind of looks like it's shat the bed, there's a lot less coming through generally speaking. Is there any hope of it all getting revived, or is this city just not gonna be able to support anything going forwards?
