Are there any weekend cleanup events or groups?

I just moved to Houston for work and its been a tough transition. I am looking to meet people and participate in some activities.

I would be interested in joining a cleanup group or organization. Cleaning neighborhoods, rivers, etc is an incredible and rewarding thing to do.

Side note: What is there to do to meet people in Houston?
