Beware of Artesian on Westheimer Apts
| |
Hello everyone, just wanted to warn people to think twice if you consider applying/leasing to this apartment complex. Had a previous post on here about being handed an appallingly unclean roach infested unit. We came to find trash, dead roaches, and live roaches all throughout the apartment. Unfortunately, we are locked into this lease for a year. I will literally be counting down the days till we can submit our termination notice. After reporting the disturbing state in which we received the unit; the leasing manager told us that it would be "clean" and ready by 4. We thought he meant by the 4th of June. Nope, he clarified it would be done by 4pm that same day. I felt very iffy with his statement. Come 4pm we receive the keys once again to find that they hardly did much aside from picking up previous tenant's trash. The audacity when he told us that he went to look and that it was "clean". They didn't even replace the refrigerator which had dead roaches and roach droppings inside as well as in the freezer! All they did was hastily wipe it down bc there was clearly still roach droppings residue inside the door. We were told that it's not likely to be replaced unless there's something that prevents it from working. As of right now we're having to fumigate and clean this disgusting mess ourselves. Previous tenant was likely a heavy smoker and so there's a potent cigarette smell throughout the apartment. I think they just sprayed some aerosol spray to try and mask the scent; which hardly did anything. Spend most of the day cleaning down the walls with vinegar and fabric softener to try and reduce the smell. Google reviews say it all. Please make sure to ALWAYS do your research. Up until now I didn't know that you can request to see the unit you're moving into prior to signing the lease and handing over any money. I wish I'd known this beforehand. Fool me once. Please reconsider if you are looking to rent at Artesian on Westheimer! These are pictures of how we received the unit upon move-in day. submitted by /u/purpleborapeace |
