How often do flood zones get updated?

Hello! Looking to make the move to Houston, somewhere inside the loop. There is one house I like but it is right outside the 100 year flood zone. It’s not in the zone, but it’s really close to it. My question is how often do the flood zones get updated? Am I at risk of buying a house not in the flood zone but years down the line it will be?
