Chevron strikes $7.6 billion deal to buy Colorado’s PDC Energy, increase crude production

The transaction combines Colorado’s second- and fourth-largest crude oil producers by volume, blending oil and gas well operations spanning 600,000 largely contiguous acres across the core of the Denver-Julesburg Basin.
