Unemployment assistance in Houston?

hi all

i was laid off about a week ago and while i’ve already filed for unemployment i would like to know if there’s any other programs in houston (or just in general?) i could look into to make life less stressful while i job hunt. stuff like rent assistance, help paying bills (i have a 1.3k ER bill i’m paying off and HCA told me i likely won’t qualify for their assistance/forgiveness program because it’s below 1.5k…? i’m going to try to apply anyways but it’s definitely a source of anxiety atm lol), etc

i live in the energy corridor area (zip code 77077) for what it’s worth
