Runner Bit by Dog on Buffalo Bayou

Beware – unbelievably irresponsible dog owners running at Buff Bayou today with their two dogs. One was a mini Australian shepherd and the other was a black mutt about 30-40 pounds. It was a couple running with their dogs out on a loose leash without muzzles. I’m not scared of dogs and have run by thousands on my many years of running. The black mutt jumped at me and bit my left waist. Full teeth contact. I was so startled I then fell into the metal railing and hurt my right thigh pretty bad it ended the run. The resulting fall into the railing is what ended up causing me pain. Dog owner apologized that his dog ‘startled’ me and kept going. I wish I demanded his contact info so I could have called 311 on the dog. Keep an eye out for these irresponsible owners and keep out of their way before they let their dog bite you or your kid!
