Is there any easy way for me to get on a container ship and/or meet a ship captain to pick their brain?

I know this is a strange request but I have a slight obsession with cargo/container ships and have always wanted to be very near one/on one and see its engine etc etc. Would also love to talk to a captain so I could ask questions should they be open to that sort of thing, lol. I basically ask everyone I meet if they have a cargo ship/twic card connect like I’m a drug addict fiending for a dealer. I figure since I’m in Houston, what better place?

And yes, I already know a spot to go and watch them pass. And no, I’m terrified of the ocean, so I definitely don’t want to work on/travel on a container ship. I just want to be very near one and/or on one when it’s, like, not in the middle of the ocean.

Not sure if anyone here could help, but reddit often finds me solutions to all sorts of problems so I’m throwing this one out there. Thanks in advance.
