More Rural-ish areas near Houston / Kemah TX

Possibly moving to the Kemah area soon for work.

Can anyone recommend cities that are somewhat close that tend to err on the more rural side of things? I dabble in old and rare vehicles and perform all of my own vehicle repairs as well so I'm looking for an area in which I'll have a higher chance of finding a place that can accommodate.
