Why do we need a QB to play right away?

Demeco just signed a 6-year contract and the odds of the Texans being playoff contenders this year are little to none, doesn’t matter if Mahomes was our QB. If we take AR15 we have the time to develop him…..Keenum/Mills CAN start and even if we suck with them at the helm….we get a lower draft pick next year because of it (more talent around our young QB) …..im not sure why the media thinks we CANT take a project QB with the #2 pick….especially a project with the highest ceiling in recent memory
