Lost Drivers License appt due to DPS computers being down

New to Texas. I had an appointment to get my DL on July 2nd…I showed up at the DPS office and they tell me the system went down on July 1st, they write down my info and send me home telling me they will call me back…here I am and no call from DPS…now their system does not recognize my confirmation number and the earliest appointment available is for Sept 18th…anybody else got screwed???
