Is it just me, or is road rage getting even worse than it did a year ago?

I ask purely because in the last couple of weeks I've had instances where someone will just out of seemingly nowhere lose their minds, begin brake checking me, get in behind me when I finally get around them, and then sit on my back and begin flashing their high beams and begin waving their middle finger around.

I struggle to find any logical reason for the sudden aggression. My follow distance is normal, my speed is at the speed limit….in one case, I made a perfectly legal pass on a guy going about five under the limit, and he just whipped around me and slammed on his brakes while sticking his middle finger out the window.

I know road rage has been bad for the last two years, but in those cases there always seemed to be a reason….now it's like people are just in a constant state of fury and will just go berserk if you're in their vicinity.
