Burglary of vehicle attempt – Great Heights Brewing.

I'm one of the people here who is SO tired of seeing posts from victims of car break-ins. "My laptop and school books" or "My sports bag and…" etc., etc.

There's always a slew of comments from people saying you can't leave anything valuable in your car or truck, ever.

I subscribe to that. I left absolutely nothing of value visible in my truck yesterday morning (Sunday, 04/02/23) when I parked at Great Heights for a bike ride. We were gone from around 8:30 until around noon, and when I got back, my passenger-side window was smashed.

My between-seat console was open and the contents had been scattered on the seat and floor.

Nothing was taken because there was nothing to take.

But I'm out the cost of getting the window replaced.

I notified the bartender but he said, "Yes, we do have cameras, but honestly, this is almost a daily thing." In other words, they're not going to pull the video to investigate, and I don't blame them.

I know I should have made a police report, but honestly, I don't think making a police report would do anything other than contribute to the statistics. Besides, I didn't want to wait around for a cop and then have him/her interrupt our post-ride socializing.

I won't park there anymore.

TL;DR – Thief busted my truck window, didn't get anything, but now I have to pay for a replacement.
