We love Houston, but never felt so violated after last night

My SO and her friends went out to dinner on Hillcroft last night to break their fast. Came back to find her window shattered despite there being nothing of interest visible in the car. However, they got into her trunk where three friends had their bags, and they took everything. These fuckheads got away with $2000 of Sony camera gear, a Macbook and Airpods, a dress suit, and some invaluable sentimental items of one friend's deceased sibling. My SO and her friends are PhD students barely making ends meet as it is. None of them had renter's insurance.

We're trying to get nearby security camera footage but haven't had any luck yet. HPD useless as always. And this morning someone supposedly found at least one of the bags and contacted the owner, but even that person is now giving them the runaround.

Just really bullshit all around. Apologies for the rant.
