What’s your favorite bike trail in Houston? Looking for a new trail/path to ride (between 6-10 miles).
I got an e-bike a few months ago and I've been trying to go out every weekend to ride. I've tried a few trails/paths that I'll discuss below, was wondering what your favorite bike paths/trails are that you recommend.
1) Cullen Park Bike Path – This one is my favorite. It's 6-7 miles, through a wooded area and not too many people. If it didn't cross two roads it would be perfect.
2) Terry Hershey Park Hike and Bike Trail – Since I can only ride on the weekends, it's super busy with walkers and other riders. Probably my least favorite of the one's I've tried.
3) Brays Bayou Park/Bishop Forenza Phase II – I don't know the correct name of this trail/path, it's the one at Highway 6 and Westpark Toll Road. Not bad, but a large majority of it has no trees and is right by the road so tons of road noise/traffic noise. I like it quieter. Also, there's a water treatment plant right by the trail and it was a bit smelly the last time I biked past it.
4) Geroge Bush Park Hike and Bike Trail (along I-10 and Highway 6) – Just tried this one this past weekend. Not bad, but kinda boring as it's mostly straight and there's no trees so if the wind picks up its surprisingly strong.
What are some other ones you recommend? I prefer a not too busy trail (paved, not looking to go off roading) like Cullen park bike trail. I haven't tried the Memorial Park bike trail as I figured it would be super busy, or the Buffalo Bayou Park trail for the same reason.
I'm thinking of trying the George Bush Park trail off of S Barker Cypress Rd. I live on the West Side but don't mind driving a bit to try a new trail.
