TD Bank pays $1.2B to settle claims related to Allen Stanford Ponzi scheme

TD Bank Group admitted no wrongdoing and said it chose to settle claims related to the Allen Stanford Ponzi scheme case “to avoid the distraction and uncertainty of continuing a long legal proceeding.” Other financial services companies are paying much smaller amounts in similar settlements.
