Unknown person banging on door at 2:30 a.m.

Just had a scary experience – was woken up by absolute pounding on my apt. door at 2:30 a.m.. It stopped and then it started again so I threw on a sweater over my pajamas, but by the time I looked out through my peephole and saw nobody. Texted neighbor but no response. Has anyone else had a similar experience as of late?

I'm also quite nervous because I'm Jewish and have a mezzuzah on my door, but I can't check that until daylight hours.

I did call the police and they said they'd send someone to check the apt. complex but lowkey don't expect them to come because HPD.
