Help for victims of a violent crime

I'm a cop in the Houston area. I'm looking to see if there is anyone that can point me in the right direction. I recently worked a case where a mother and son were violently robbed at gunpoint for their car. The suspects shot the son twice, the first hit passing through and through and the second hit grazing his head. Luckily he lived and not even a month or so later he's back at work trying to take care of his mom.

The suspects stole the family car and wrecked it. The family doesn't have much money and I want to help them get something to drive but don't know if there are any charities that could help. I've found one suspect and am working on the second, but I really wish I could do more. Crime Victims Compensation is helping but they really need a daily driver and the insurance gave them very little. If anyone knows, please message me.
