Jeweler, Make a Wedding Band

I lost my wedding band. I take it off when I play basketball in any event it wasn’t very valuable but after 37 years, it had meaning. I wanted to replace it with something that also means something to me and my wife.

My plan was to take my dad‘s gold band and have it melted down with my wife’s original engagement ring setting. The problem is they want to buy the gold and then just melt down or give me a gold ring. It may be silly but I would like to use my gold and watch them do it. I don’t want anything complicated just a simple gold band.

if anyone knows a jeweler who would do something like that, please let me know. Thank you in advance.
