Thoughts on Meco’s Press Conference?

Just listened to the press conference on my way to work, and now that I’m at work I’m trying to stall…

What did y’all think of the presser? Anything stand out to you?

The only relevant knowledge I bring is communication and presentation skills. Seeing how that’s really the point of a press conference, I’d like to think this is relevant. Below are some notes from while I was listening:

•Cal, Nick, and DeMeco are all clearly on the same page. Their responses were all so similar, even if they hit on different points. The style they speak in, the words they use are all in line. We have a FO that not only recognizes the challenges they have, but they finally feel confident to tackle them (and it shows).

•DeMeco rambled a LOT. I think it was his excitement showing through, and it goes with what he was saying. He got significantly better by the end.

•Aaron Wilson sounded ashamed when he asked his question and it made me happy.

•DeMeco basically shrugged off the black coaches question, and I think that’s huge. It showed that at no point was that a focus, intention, or desire of the club. It’s not about being a black coach, it’s about being a good coach. Skin color doesn’t belong in the convo.

All in all, to see those 3 happy and excited made me happy and excited. We have a lot to look forward to!
