Looking at Places to Live

Hey y’all!!

I’m potentially moving to Houston for law school. I am between two schools, but would be attending University of Houston if I decide to come here.

I’m not from Texas, let alone Houston, so was wondering if y’all could help educate me about the areas and such. I’m looking at downtown Houston for apartments, 1414 Texas to be exact.

Is this a generally safe area? Safety is a pretty big concern to me and I also want to be around/near food and nightlife as I am a 24 year old male. Will have my car and the commute is around 10-15 minutes to campus which doesn’t seem bad!
