Roof replacement
I live in the suburbs north of Houston, house is a 3300 squarefoot 2 level home. My guess is around 2000 square feet per level. 2017 construction
We have a roofer in our HOA who definitely does quality work but I recently learned from a referral that he charges 30% commission on what ever his subcontractors fee is.
He was out at my house to quote me on some gutter work, when he mentioned that replacing my roof would cost 30K and that materials for building have all spiked. It has been some time but I was considering building a home in late 2021 and I had the understanding that the cost of materials has come down. Anyway two questions/statements I wanted to fact check from him
- Roofs need to be changed about every 10 years in houston?
- He said Allstate is the one insurance carrier that will not pay for roof replacements even if damaged from hail
- $30 K for a normal shingle roof for around my house size?
