Traffic around Astrodome?

I’m considering a move to the NRG/astrodome area. Aside from rodeo season, what does traffic disruption generally look like? How frequently are roads swamped (or closed) because of events in the area?

Commute is a primary reason for moving and I’d hate to relocate only to keep sitting in traffic. (Commuting to 610 S @ 45 S)
