National children’s retailer closing one-third of stores

The Children’s Place Inc. (Nasdaq: PLCE) plans to reduce its store footprint by one-third by the end of fiscal year 2021 as part of an ongoing effort to shift its core business online.

The company has 920 stores in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, and 300 are slated to be closed. Of those, 200 closures are planned for this year, and 100 are slated for 2021.
