Houston area gets one deal on list of biggest M&A — but its others are far smaller
Mergers and acquisitions in the energy industry have slowed significantly this year, but Houston-area companies are still making deals.
There were 28 mergers and acquisitions targeting Houston-based companies between Aug. 1, 2018, and Aug. 30, 2019, according to Bloomberg data compiled by The Business Journals. That’s the third-largest number of deals of any city in the analysis, after New York with 60 and San Francisco with 33.
