Any metalworkers local to Houston who could help prototype a pedestal stand for iPads (used during BP and cage work)?

Most fixtures we use are simple tripods (like Dolica) with a Grifiti Nootle (to accommodate 12.9” iPad) attached to the ball head.

Problems with this setup:

  1. Tripod legs are fragile. They bend/break too frequently
  2. Tripod requires all three legs set up at same length for “level” even though 99% of our work requires level (so no need for the adjustability of uneven surface adjustments)
  3. Tripod legs require a lot of footprint to be stable. This doesn’t work well in tight cages or when trying to get up close to the edge of batting turtle.

I’m looking to trade surface adjustability and convenient weight for smaller footprint and easier setup. We really only need height adjustability (to an extent, maybe covering 3’ to 5’ off the ground) with a sturdy, heavy base to keep the iPad Pro still and safe from falling.

These would still need to be portable/collapsible for travel and fast setup/takedown.
