MLK celebration events this weekend
Hey, Houston!
Ahead of the national holiday Monday, there are many ways to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. in the city throughout the weekend. Here are a couple of those scheduled events:
MLK Jr. Dream Catcher Bike Ride
This 20-mile bike ride gives riders the opportunity to see the stops Dr. King made during his last trip to Houston.
When: 8-11 a.m. Jan. 14
Where: Antioch MBC Downtown, 500 Clay
27th Annual Martin Luther King Day Celebration
Children’s Museum Houston honors the legacy of civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., with messages of unity, justice and peace. Join the museum as they honor Dr. King's legacy and recognize this year's Caryakid Award winner, Rev. Dr. Polly Sparks Turner.
When: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Jan. 15
Where: 1500 Binz
