Electricity is Confusing

Hi Y’all!

New Houstonian here, my girlfriend and I are moving out to Houston this weekend to the Montrose area. Neither of us have ever lived anywhere with deregulated energy companies before and were wondering if you wonderful people could help us out.

Basically from what I’ve found, fixed rate is the way to go but almost every company has one. We’re living in a two story two bedroom with about 1400 sq ft.

I’m just trying to see if any of y’all know any good companies you swear by with good rates and good customer service.

Any advice for other utilities like gas are more than welcome as well.
