Memorial Hermann, Cigna extend contract negotiation deadline again

Although negotiation talks have progressed toward a new multiyear agreement, Memorial Hermann Health System and Connecticut-based Cigna Corp. (NYSE: CI) will once again extend their existing contract.

This extension will add another month, making the new expiration date July 31. However, if the two companies are unable to reach an agreement by then, Memorial Hermann would be out of network for Cigna’s commercial customers starting Aug. 1.
