Is Crane on Tilt?

I am pleased with the Abreu signing but I feel like Crane might be on tilt with all this talk of FA other signings? The team won the world series and can use improvements in some areas, but do we need to go overboard and add massive short term fixes to a team that had always taken the long term approach?

I feel like too many FA's leads to a Yankees problem where they are throwing cash and in a couple years have a huge payroll issue, full of dis-likable, over-the-hill for hire henchman. This has never been the way and the approach the last 10 years has worked to make this the dominant team it is. Why change, only one way but down. I cant even name the last huge free agent the Astros sign (who is not a pitcher) ever? Jeff Kent?
