Texas waives expensive late fees for bars
Gov. Greg Abbott waived late fees for Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission license and permit renewals on May 20.
According to a news release, the waiver only applies to permits and licenses that expired on or after March 13. Bars in Houston were forced to close their doors on March 17 with the city’s stay-at-home order.
Late fees for are $300 per day for first, second and third violations, which could mean considerable fees for bars whose license and permits expired in March or April.
