Bachelor Party, Texans Game and Other General Recommendations
Hello Houston! I come to you today from Washington DC in need of some advice. I apologize, the DC sub gets posts like these weekly, so I know they’re annoying. But none the less, I am here seeking advice on visiting your city for a Bacherlor Party. I’m sure these questions get asked often, I did a search and couldn’t find any posts that were recent, so if I missed a recent post that would answer my questions, if someone wants to point me in that direction, I’d appreciate it.
Anywho, I have some basic questions that I’d love to get your opinions on. Start with the basics, small group of guys in the early and mid 30’s coming to town. Don’t plan on doing anything too crazy, mostly bar hopping, eating as much delicious food as we can, watching some college football and then attending the Texans game on Sunday. We have an Airbnb in the Museum District.
Biggest areas I’d like advice on:
Best restaurants – we’re hoping to eat a lot of BBQ and we’d like a recommendation on the best steakhouse in town. Price point doesn’t matter, we’re looking for the “must try” spots in town. Our assumption is that BBQ is the popular food down there, are we mistaken or is there another type of food that Houston is known for? I’m assuming there’s some good Tex-Mex to be had.
Bars: any must try bars in general? And then specifically we’re looking for a bar(s) to watch college football on Saturday. It’s Texas, so I assume college football is pretty big thing, so hit me with you best watching spots.
Texans Game: I’ve heard the tailgating scene isn’t great, and I imagine with the way the Texans season is going, there’s not a ton of excitement around the team. I’m a Skins/Commies fan, so trust me, no judgement here on a bad football team. Is the stadium close to bars and restaurants that would be better for the pregame/postgame?
Other activities: this is going to be a pretty relaxed Bachelor’s Party, but would love to try to something unique since most of us have never been to Texas. Some basic ideas we’ve come up with, Top Golf or some sort of equivalent, Axe Throwing, and Brewery Tours. Any other ideas?
Sorry again for clogging your sub and I sincerely appreciate any responses!
