Thanksgiving in Houston
I’m a Canadian dude who’s thinking about making a trip to your fine city in November. Canadian thanksgiving is a thing (we do it in October because our climate makes for an earlier harvest) but from what I’ve heard, it’s nowhere close to the spectacle of an American thanksgiving.
So I’m wondering whether I should schedule my trip to coincide with American thanksgiving, or to avoid it. I would love to experience it in some way, but I can also conceive a situation where everything is closed, everyone is home, and as an out of towner who doesn’t know anyone I’ll have nothing to do. So what do you locals think?
