Why are Houston drivers idiots?

Moved here from Chicago couple months ago and honestly Houston drivers make Chicago drivers seem like geniuses. I lived there for 25 years and have never seen anybody drive as badly as they do here. I have a 15 min drive to and from work, and everyday I see people running red lights, people in left turn lanes holding everyone up because they didn't think ahead and need to be in the right lane. When I complain to coworkers they say "That's Texas!" I moved here because I thought Illinois was run by idiots, now I'm thinking Houston is where they're from.
