Looking for independent apartments

Howdy! I'm in search of a more independent-style apartment building. Looking to move within 20ish minutes of George Bush Airport and everything I can find is all the gigantic 15-20 building complexes that have 2-3 floors of apartments.

Do any smaller apartments complexes/buildings exist in that area? I'm thinking something with 50 units or less in the whole building/complex. Any leads on where to start looking would be a great help. Thank you all!
