New parent, grew up in a foreign country, looking for HISD advice. Thanks.

I am unfamiliar with the American public school system, and I’m confused by my desktop research so far. I am looking for real feedback outside of these grades I am finding online.

Is HISD really so bad? It seems like we need to move to Spring Branch if we want a good public school. Is that really the case?

Currently zoned to Memorial Elementary. Any advice , first hand experience would be appreciated. Thanks!
