Foundation structural engineer recommendations and pricing

Long story short: we need a structural engineer to come inspect our house’s foundation, and tell us if it needs action or not. I browsed on this subreddit and saw tons of recommendations, but none of them talk about how much it cost. If any of you worked with one, how much did you spend? What was your experience like? Did you get a nice report?
