Waugh Bat Colony info

I’m planning to visit Houston either this year or next with some family and we have a soft spot for bats. Do the bats usually come out in October/November? Don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up only to find out they’re not coming out. The Buffalo Bayou Park website they come out year round weather permitting but I was to get something more helpful from the locals.
