ttrpg shops really can’t seem to remain open

i just noticed lotus gaming is closed south Houston-clear lake and Gerard's gaming went down during covid. also south houston – Webster area

i get these kinds of shops are a effort of love not necessarily profit but i've literally gone to both places several times tyring to get a dnd game night going with zero success. i've called, showed up in person, offered to dm for free, even posted on their facebook site. it is radio-silence. the question is where's the profit? well, face book ads/eyes maybe? dice, mini's, maps. tokens, food and drink?

trying to get a game going and all the effort of the shop is towards mtg and or Warhammer and the place goes down anyway. i don't pretend to be a successful businessperson . i would probably run a shop into the ground withing a month, but it's frustrating that i cant get a game going in a game store that theoretically is there for games to be for games?

RIP lotus and gareds
