Flying Melbourne to Peru with a 41 min layover in houston – has anyone does this before and is that enough time?

My flight leaves from melbourne to syd, then syd to lax, lax to houston which has a 41 min layover (in houston) followed by houston to Lima, peru. I was wondering if anyone has done this route before and know if this is a reasonable time frame to go from domestic arrivals to international departures in Houston.
