Meet Milan Aron | Realtor & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Milan Aron and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Milan, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I was born in California, but I grew up in Queens, NY. It’s quite a story for another time, but I didn’t grow up in a wealthy family. In fact, I was adopted (a couple times). My father passed at a very young age and I just met my mother a few years ago. I’ve learned independence mostly from experiences and have found that adversity breeds lessons AND blessings. I use this wisdom when I find myself feeling defeated. I always knew there is more to life for me because I deserve that. Real Estate is hard. Entrepreneurship is hard. Altering the norm is hard. My perseverance comes from the life I’ve envisioned for myself and knowing no one is coming to save me. I am in complete control of my happiness and success; I stand on this.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My main focus currently includes Real Estate and Marketing Consulting. I love helping my clients find their dream home. I’ve been in the real estate industry for less than a year. My first transaction came four months after receiving my license and was over $2,000,000; I couldn’t believe it. I felt in that moment every single decision I’ve made up until that point, placed me in that position. My personality is curious; I’ve tried multiple businesses that failed. Do you think that will stop me? Absolutely not! Life ebbs and flows. The cool part about it is, you never know what will happen next. I enjoy the thrill and suspense of it. I’ve learned that you must plant many different harvests and let them grow while you work on the others. Eventually, you’ll have a full garden.

I’ve always worked hard because I had to. My motivation is the fact that I refuse to become a product of my environment. No matter the weapon formed, none shall prosper.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Houston is quite the city. My favorite thing to do when I’m in town is try the hot new restaurants. If a friend were visiting, we’d definitely experience Sunday Funday. Houston is known for its culture of boozy brunches and inviting atmosphere. During the week, I like to attend luncheons and stay up to date with my fitness. One of my favorite Pilates studios is Solid Core. I’d probably invite my friend to join. In the evenings, we would probably get sushi at Roka Akor, Pasta at Marmo, Tikki Masala at Musaafer, or Brown Stew Chicken at Cool Runnings. I’m not a huge fan of clubs, but you may find me at a speakeasy or cool bar within the loop. I’d also take them to my favorite speakeasy, Clarkwood for their espresso martinis. Other exciting things I’d suggest is check out the headlining exhibit at MFAH, pop up shows, comedy or magic shows, or a networking event or bachata at Secret Garden.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Honestly, I have so many people to thank. An African proverb that has been recited by many greats goes like this: “If You Want To Go Fast, Go Alone. If You Want To Go Far, Go Together.” This is one of my favorite quotes because as an entrepreneur, your network is your net worth. Of course I’ve put in countless hours or sleepless nights building my business, but I couldn’t have become the person I am today without God, first and foremost. Secondly, I would like to thank (in no particular order) my very good friend Anjali, my mentor Angelique, my old college roomie Allyssa, and my Aunt Sonya. I also want to thank my girls Vicky, Erin, Heather for their friendship and love throughout the years.

A book that has changed my life recently is called “The One Thing” by Gary Keller. It talks about finding that one thing that moves you, the one thing that is dedicated for your journey alone. It’s essentially your recipe to life. you make adjustments based on your taste.
