PSA to Women Walking along Allen Parkway !!

Hey everyone! I had something really scary happen to me a couple days ago and thought I’d share just to spread the word.

This past weekend I decided to go on a short walk along Allen parkway / Buffalo Bayou park with my dog around 5/6 pm and as soon as I got out of my car to pay the pay meter, a young, thin man with blonde hair in a wheelchair came out of nowhere and started harassing me.

He started out making a comment about how the paymeters sometimes don’t work, and I go ohh thanks! It was nice meeting you. Then he goes “well, you’re not gonna get rid of me that fast! Walk with me for at least a couple more minutes then you can get rid of me.”

Now this comment really freaked me out, and I felt really scared and wasn’t sure how to get out of the situation so I started walking next to him. He’s on his wheelchair really close to me and my dog and starts immediately badgering me with questions like what’s my name etc. After about 10 or so seconds I say I need to make a call and he starts getting angry and is like well tell whoever you call that you rejected someone who could’ve been the love of your life but you turned him down etc! And I turn around and go straight back to my car and drove home — hoping he didn’t follow me.

I’ve never had something like this happen to me before and the whole thing felt very pressured and almost as if I was being targeted.

I’m not sure what his motive was, but I want to put this out there to other women because if he did it to me, whose to say he’s not to others..I mean truly the second I got out of my car he showed up, almost as if he was out there to harass women.

Always trust your intuition and if a situation feels off, get out as soon as you can or call 911! It’s better safe than sorry.
