How past players we booted away effected our future

We've all heard of Tashaun Gipson, our safety we signed in FA last year, who just cut after 1 season.

We literally didn't offer Tyrann enough to sign with us (our offer was ~$2-4M less than the chiefs IIRC) , just so we could sign Gipson… only to release him after 1 season. Oh and the other safety we had before Gipson, Kareem Jackson, who was playing like a pro-bowl safety after switching from CB. Yeah we totally blew that guy off, not even offered a contract, didn't even tell him "Thank you for being a Texan". Tyrann was also the glue/leader to that Chiefs D that went from one of the worst in 2018 to at least average enough to win a Super Bowl.

A couple days after BOB booted Hopkins last month, I wrote a comment on a post on r/nfl how our decisions with multiple past players have hurt us in the future.

One of the heaviest prices we paid, was booting away Duane Brown (paid ~$12M to protect Wilson now) and fixing that wound via trade for Laremy Tunsil. This doesn't factor that in 2017 & 2018 we had one of the worst OL in the league. That's how a rookie QB contract gets wasted. (Not upset at any of our current players, just that our FO makes really stupid (emotionally based) decisions on quality personnel/players and the organization pays for it dearly 1-2 years later).
