Should I be scared of Houston?

I'm moving to Houston in a week. I do not know anything at all about Houston. I am moving in from a big city, so crime is not my main concern, but… should it be? Also, are cockroaches a real problem? I hate them. I am also moving into a house with only one floor, is that something to worry about? (considering hurricanes and floods). Help me get an idea of what is the worst (and best) to expect from Houston! 🙏
