Police activity on Emancipation, Citizen says vehicle collision but it seems like more..?

Anyone know what happened? 2:15AM – 3 AM On Emancipation and Leeland, near LOL Liquors, there was a wrecked vehicle. There were like 15 police cars spread out down Emancipation blocking right turns. A helicopter was circling for about an hour. Citizen said vehicle collision but it seems odd that there would be that many police cars and a helicopter search. Is this normal practice for a wreck? All feedback appreciated!
