Looming logjam at SP

Odorizzi is likely back at the beginning of July, and barring setbacks, Lance should be back in the rotation in August. That's seven legit big league starting pitchers on the roster – presuming Odo keeps performing more like he did before his injury than the beginning of the season.

If I had to guess, Javier goes back to the pen, he's young, he only has two pitches, and he is extremely versatile as either an innings eater or leverage guy.

So, if that happens, the options are to run a six man rotation with a perfectly viable spot starter sitting in the pen, or trade one of our guys for something that we need. The major knock against six man rotations are the opportunity costs: it's going to mean fewer IP from JV, Framber and Lance, but with the other four guys perfectly capable of pitching gems in big games that's not as big an issue. I mean the two "worst" guys in the rotation held the most potent offense in the league to zero hits over 14.1 innings. Also the opportunity cost of another bat, but everyone is hitting all of a sudden so I'm not sure really where we could get the value that one of the starters is worth, and I'd sure hate to lose any of them.

There are worse problems to have, of course. What would yall like to see the club do as Odo and LMC come off the IR?
