Thoughts on Ion District?

So I just found out about the new Ion District and that the Ion officially got its grand opening this week. I’m curious as to what others think about it. Here’s an overview if you’re unfamiliar with it: https://iondistrict.com/files/Ion-District_Presentation-Deck_Compressed.pdf

I like that it further centers Houston as an innovative city and emerging tech hub, generating jobs and harvesting the possibility of new ideas. I like the interior architecture of the Ion and the conceptual designs mixing both urbanism and nature seem like a great place to hang out at, especially when in Midtown. Walkability and access to public transportation are also nice.

My concerns would probably be around how it’d affect current residents, especially those of lower income. I’m sure there are plans by the Ion to find ways to invest in the community in creative ways… I’d do more research but I’ve got to get to work soon so hopefully you all can provide me with your thoughts and concerns.
